Net Worth Increase from End of Year 2020: $355,979 – $333,809 = +$22,170
I reduced our house value estimate, as Zillow’s was inflated… by about $25,000 by my estimates. This also takes our cars into the equation.
Total Invested: We currently have $198,529 invested. This will hit the $200k mark on Friday when I get paid!
And now, for my goals.
FAMILY: Book at trip to visit my grandmother with my sister in September (pandemic permitting). $750 Still waiting in the wings. Haven’t saved any money yet, as other things have taken priority, and I’m feeling out the COVID situation.
MARRIAGE: Book a 3-day cabin getaway with my husband in June. $500 Plans haven’t solidified yet, but my husband says the employer he’s on a trial basis with is taking a week off in May, so that may be when we make our move. We should have enough in the sinking fund to cover by then, post-taxes.
CAREER: Establish a blog that generates $1,000 of revenue by end of year (EOY). LOL! Still waiting on a comment that isn’t from a fake person. I do feel like I’m at the point where I can start taking more serious steps to get some traffic.
FINANCIAL: Save or invest 20% of our total gross income (whatever that ends up being this year). I’m changing this to 50%. 20% was too easy, and I’m ready to get more aggressive with this goal.
HEALTH: Complete 30 minutes of activity 3x per week (156 days throughout the year). Dear God, I had to buy new clothes because nothing fits. In the last couple of weeks, I think I’ve done at least 3 days per week. So not horrible, but I’ve struggled with this over the winter.
HOME: Spend 2 hours decluttering each month. I wouldn’t say total decluttering time totaled a full 6 hours, but I did get through my late mother’s clothing and some random boxes of papers. I maybe hit 50% of this goal for Qtr 1.
FUN: Book 3 hour-long personal training boxing sessions for my birthday in April. $150 I went to my first class! It kicked my ass and was so fun. March is a big birthday/anniversary month in my family, so those expenses set me back a bit. I plan to start back up in May when everything else is paid off.
PERSONAL GROWTH: Read 12 books (business/financial/leadership) by EOY. I’ve been in a funk and not all that motivated. I swapped over to a Stephen King novel because I just feel burned out on “real” information. Enjoying that, slowly but surely.
Are you still on track with your 2021 goals?
