Over the last 3-4 years, I’ve utilized a class I bought on CreativeLive that introduced the Best Year Yet goal-setting method. The beginning of the class made me wonder if it was a waste of time, but it became a yearly planning session each November.
This year, there is a lot more going on, and I didn’t feel like I had the time needed to dedicate to the prep work. For 2021, I decided to set goals based on the areas of the Wheel of Life. What a community college throwback circa 2005, yeesh.
But anyway, I added the cost to achieve some of those goals too, which ties in well with this blog.
Here’s what I settled on New Year’s Eve:
FAMILY: Book at trip to visit my grandmother with my sister in September (pandemic permitting). $750
MARRIAGE: Book a 3-day cabin getaway with my husband in June. $500
CAREER: Establish a blog that generates $1,000 of revenue by end of year (EOY). Oh, hey there!
FINANCIAL: Save or invest 20% of our total gross income (whatever that ends up being this year).
HEALTH: Complete 30 minutes of activity 3x per week (156 days throughout the year).
HOME: Spend 2 hours decluttering each month.
FUN: Book 3 hour-long personal training boxing sessions for my birthday in April. $150
PERSONAL GROWTH: Read 12 books (business/financial/leadership) by EOY.
What are your goals for 2021?
