How are we even here already??
Let’s go June! Here are this month’s goals:
- Finish “The Science of Getting Rich.” This isn’t that well-written, but it’s short, and I can usually get something out of anything, so I’ll push through on this one.
- Read 200 pages of “The Passage” by Justin Cronin. I’m about 30 pages in so far, and it’s pretty riveting. Looking forward to getting further into it and am really glad I made the effort to switch to some fiction.
- Complete 12 runs. I ALMOST made it last month but tweaked my knee and had to rest at 10 runs in. Better luck this month. I plan to get back at it today and see how the knee handles it.
- Get Google ads set up on blog. I still have slow traffic here, but I’d like to get started setting things up to potentially make some pocket change in the future for another stream of income.
- Read 1 book on cryptocurrency. I’ve been dripping money into bitcoin (BTC) and really need to get better-versed in crypto overall before I put a lot of money into it (if I decide that’s the right move). I bought @cryptocountess Holly-Ellen Stockley’s new book on Amazon “Crypto Made Clear.” You can find that here.
- Update resume. Job burnout continues. I’m toying with the idea of changing jobs, and possibly even agencies. Regardless, my resume needs some TLC and attention.
- Plan 10-year anniversary gift for my dad and stepmom. I’ll be going in on this with my sister, but I need to make sure I find something good for this special anniversary. I’m THE WORST at picking gifts, so we’ll have to see how it plays out. My sister’s job is incredibly busy, so it will likely fall on me for the most part. This will come from the sinking funds.
Seven goals is ambitious, but there’s a lot to be done. This month is focused on a lot of reading.
Aside from starting “Mare of Easttown” last night (and getting hooked), I’ve been focusing on reading before bed more than watching TV. It’s been enjoyable. I’d given up on fiction years back, but with the job stress, trying to shove a bunch of information into my brain at the end of the day wasn’t working.
Fiction has helped to wind me down and use different parts of my brain. I think it even helps wake up my creativity a little bit. When you’re in FACT FACT FACT ANALYZE FACT mode all day, every day, you lose a little of the “right brain.” Sometimes I just want some good character development. So, we’re leaning into that!
What does June look like for you?
